Aldine ISD Changes, Provides Options for High School, Ninth Grade Exam Schedules

Aldine ISD recognizes the challenges of both On-Campus and Virtual Learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic during the 2020-21 school year.

Because of those challenges, Aldine ISD has changed the exam schedule for high school and ninth-grade students. The exam windows for the primary-eighth grade level will remain the same.

“Our high school students are juggling many things, and navigating the new normal of high school has been a learning curve for both students and staff,” said Katy Roede, Aldine ISD Chief of Schools. “The new exam schedule will allow for all high school students to take their exams at home. Additionally, high schools (and ninth grade campuses) will be open for students who prefer to take the tests on their respective campuses.”

Roede added high schools and ninth grade campuses would also be open for students to receive additional support for tutorials and makeup missing assignments before the grading cycle. The flexible exam schedule will take place from Dec. 8-11. High school students who must pass a STAAR EOC (End of Course) test will be on the high school campus to take the test during this same window.

VIRTUAL EXAM SCHEDULE

• Tuesday, Dec. 8 – Math & CTE/Professional Comms
• Wednesday, Dec. 9 – ELA & Fine Arts/Performing Arts
• Thursday, Dec. 10 – Science & Athletics or a PE or Health Local Credit Classes
• Friday, Dec. 11 – Social Studies & Foreign Languages

ON-CAMPUS SCHEDULE

• Tuesday, Dec. 8 – Math & CTE
• Wednesday, Dec. 9 – ELA & Fine Arts/Performing Arts
• Thursday, Dec. 10 – Science & Athletics or a Health Local Credit Classes
• Friday, Dec. 11 – Social Studies & Foreign Language/Professional Communications

END-OF-COURSE (EOC) TESTING

• Tuesday, Dec. 8 – English I (make-up exam)
• Wednesday, Dec. 9 – Algebra 1
• Thursday, Dec. 10 – English II (make-up exam)
• Friday, Dec. 11 – Biology, U.S. History

For Aldine ISD Primary and Middle School students, the semester assessments will be built into their regular class schedules. On-Campus and At-Home learners will be given a window to complete the tests on Schoology. These tests will cover the standards and skills from the second nine weeks grading period.
