All 4 Incumbents Returned to AISD Board Seats

All four incumbents were returned to their seats on the Aldine Board of Trustees following the Board election on Nov. 7

Voters in Aldine ISD went to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 7, and returned all four incumbents to their respective seats on the Aldine ISD Board of Education.

In the Position 1 race, incumbent Randy Bates defeated Dr. Jill Metcalfe. Bates received 7,252 votes, and Metcalfe received 4,297 votes. There were 11,549 votes cast in the Position 1 race. 

In the Position 2 race, incumbent Paul Shanklin defeated Zaheer Malik. Shanklin received 5,716 votes, and Malik received 5,442 votes. There were 11,158 votes cast in the Position 2 race.

In the Position 6 race, incumbent Dr. Kimberley Booker defeated Araceli Ramos. Booker received 7,269 votes, and Ramos received 4,235 votes. There were 11,504 votes cast in the Position 6 race.

In the Position 7 race, incumbent Dr. Viola M. García defeated Steven Moore, Mikela Levi, and Belinda Valdivia. García received 3,801 votes, Moore received 3,508, Levi received 2,822, and Valdivia received 1,384. There were 11,5515 votes cast in the Position 7 race. 

Aldine ISD’s School Board election follows plurality rules, and the candidate with the most votes wins. The results will be official once the votes are canvassed on Nov. 20. All four will be sworn in at the Dec. 12 Board of Trustees meeting.
