Aldine ISD invites families to take an important step toward a successful start to the new school year.

The Aldine ISD Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Department will host its annual Back-to-School Expo. The free, come-and-go event will bring together district departments, community organizations, and resources for students and families.

Why Families Should Attend

Families will have the opportunity to complete or verify their child’s required Annual Enrollment Update. They can also connect with more than 40 community partners, learn about programs and services available year-round, and receive a backpack filled with basic school supplies for each enrolled Aldine ISD student whose Annual Enrollment Update has been completed and verified, while supplies last.

“Our goal is for every family to leave knowing they have the support they need for a successful school year,” FACE Executive Director LaTashia Abrams said. “The Back-to-School Expo is about much more than school supplies. It’s an opportunity for families to connect with helpful resources, build relationships with our schools and community partners, and begin the year with confidence.”

What to Expect

Complete the Required Annual Update

Aldine ISD staff work with families during the 2025 Back-to-School Expo to ensure they completed the required Annual Update form online.

Families who have already completed their child’s Annual Enrollment Update before the event are encouraged to attend. Staff will be available to verify completed updates so families can receive a voucher redeemable for school supplies. Family Navigators will also be on-site to assist parents who still need to complete the enrollment process.

Enjoy family-friendly activities and snacks

While parents take care of important back-to-school tasks, children can enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities presented in partnership with Texas Children’s Health Plan. These include inflatables, arts and crafts, face painting, character photo opportunities, a photo booth, and DJ-provided music. Concessions, including popcorn, cotton candy, elote (Mexican corn snack), and nachos, will also be available.

Explore resource booths and health screenings

The expo will also feature health screenings, including blood pressure and glucose monitoring. Families can meet with district staff and community organizations that offer programs and services supporting children and families throughout the school year. Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) will distribute disaster preparedness kits while supplies last.

One-Stop Back-to-School Preparation

The event is designed to be a convenient, one-stop destination. Families can complete back-to-school tasks, discover helpful resources, and enjoy time together before the first day of school.

The Back-to-School Expo is free and open to all Aldine ISD families. Parking is free, and Spanish-speaking staff will be available to assist families throughout the event.
