One MacArthur High School student is among the few to receive Jazz Education Network (JEN) scholarships. Priscilla Corpus has been named the 2019 Mary Ann Fischer Scholarship recipient.

The award is presented to a deserving high school student bassist entering his or her collegiate jazz studies the following year. The scholarship allows a lucky recipient to attend the annual JEN Conference. The 2019 conference is set for January 9-12 in Reno, NV.

  • $1,000 scholarship + 1 year eJEN membership + Certificate
  • JEN Conference registration
  • LJEN Conference Travel & Lodging stipend up to $1,500

The conference is part music festival, part networking and part education. It aspires to inspire young musicians. The annual conference hosts thousands of people from around the globe. The conference brings together jazz beginners and experts for a once-in-a lifetime experience.

José Antonio Díaz is Priscilla’s jazz band director at MacArthur HS.

Congratulations and All That Jazz!
