Choice Pathway – International Baccalaureate

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes seeks to develop students as inquiring, knowledgeable, principled, confident and caring individuals to enable them to take ownership of their own learning and to develop the knowledge, skills and the social and emotional awareness needed to make a difference and to thrive in a fast-paced, changing world.

The IB continuum is designed to build intercultural understanding and respect and develop well-rounded individuals who can respond to today’s challenges with optimism and an open mind.

These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right. IB graduates can receive college credit if they are successful in their end-of-course assessments:

• Texas law requires institutions of higher education to offer at least 24-credit hours to students earning the IB Diploma
• Students have the potential to earn more depending upon the number of courses taken and their scores in them
• If we base tuition cost roughly on a per credit hour fee, students can save roughly $9,000 for tuition at the University of Houston or the University of Texas at Austin.
• The rigor of the IB Programme is widely recognized. Aldine IB students reported $1,716,376 in scholarships earned.
