AISD Hosts K-9 4 Cops Olympics

Earlier this fall, Aldine ISD hosted the K-9 4 Cops Olympics at Thorne Stadium. The event was a competition of police dogs from across Texas who competed in a number of events.

The event raised money for K-9 4 Cops and also provided an opportunity for the public to meet some of the canines and their handlers. K-9 4 Cops supplies free dogs to law enforcement agencies through a grant process. The organization has provided the Aldine ISD Police Department with two dogs, Smafu, a Belgian Malinois, and Ace, a black Labrador Retriever.

AISD’s K-9 units perform random searches of schools, buses and are occasionally used by other law enforcement agencies when needed.
