Kujawa EC/PK Center Students Raise Funds for Blood Cancer Patients

Students at Kujawa EC/PK Center took part in The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s youth program [icons icon_name=”icon-external-link” icon_size=”14px”]Pennies for Patients. Pennies for Patients is a service learning, character education and philanthropy program that gives students a unique experience as they make a difference through teamwork. Participating students across the country help aid thousands of children and adults in the fight against blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. Kujawa EC/PK Center students raised $1,794 in spare change in honor of local patients.

Geraldine Quillin, school nurse, served as coordinator and oversaw the Pennies for Patients program at the campus.

To keep things energized, classrooms competed against one another. Congratulations to the students in the following teachers’ classrooms for collecting the most funds:

3rd Place — Wendy Alemán’s Classroom
