Hambrick Middle Lady Hawks Attend Basketball Clinic With Takia Starks

The Hambrick Lady Hawks basketball teams are working hard to have a successful season. They are already working on improving their skills on the court. On Nov. 16, the seventh and eighth grade teams attended the basketball clinic held at Hambrick Middle School. Takia Starks led the clinic. Starks has played professional basketball for European teams and is a shooting guard for the Perth Lynx (Australia) of the Women’s National Basketball League. She played college basketball at Texas A&M where she is the university’s all-time leading scorer.

The Lady Hawks basketball coaches — Christine Falzon, Jennifer Reed, Mia Thymes and head coach Angel Giddens — also met with parents at the clinic to discuss the academic and sportsmanship expectations of the student athletes.

Coach Giddens is excited about the upcoming season.

“We’re expecting this to be our best season yet,” stated Giddens. “I am very optimistic and excited about the season.”
