Kujawa Elementary School Participates in Santa Stampede to Raise Money for HLSR Scholarships

Kujawa Elementary School students and staff members shook off the winter chills as they hustled around as they participated in the Santa Stampede 5K Fun Run and 3K Family Walk held Sat. Dec. 14th at Forest Oaks Swim and Community Center in Spring, TX. The annual event raises funds that will be used to award Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLS&R) scholarships to graduating seniors in the Aldine-Spring-Klein (ASK) area.

Kujawa cheerleaders from involved in the 21st Century after school program participated in the Family Fun run/walk. Jessica Corrick, PE teacher at Kujawa Elementary took 2nd place in the adult 5K. She received a medal. The event not only provides scholarships but also promotes healthy habits by getting up and running outdoors.

Every year, the school district with the highest participation numbers is awarded a trophy. This year, Aldine ISD earned the award.

The Santa Stampede is hosted by the ASK Metro Go Texan Committee.
