Hambrick Middle LOTC Students Spread Holiday Cheer at Pilgrim Place

Hambrick Middle School LOTC (Leadership Officer Training Corps) cadets visited Pilgrim Place, an assisted living facility for seniors, on Dec. 16 to spread some holiday cheer with the residents celebrate Christmas. They served food and beverages, played bingo, handed out presents, and sang Christmas carols.

“It became very apparent just how much the visit meant not only the residents of Pilgrim Place but to the cadets as well,” said MSG Godwin Patterson, LOTC instructor at the campus. “It was a great pleasure for us to be involved and just spend some time sharing and honoring our elderly.

“The cadets want to wish everyone a happy holidays season and they send a special shout out to a couple of residents who really touched their hearts: Ms. Iris who will be turning 100 in February and Ms. Helen who is 96.”

According to Patterson, the feedback from the residents has been tremendously positive.

“The residents said that the visit from the students made them feel special and loved.”

Hambrick Middle LOTC cadets who participated in the celebration included Kevin González, Beatriz Cabrera, Skylar Davis, Keily Muñoz, Marc Ray, Fátima Vásquez, Angelina Treviño, Isidoro Méndez, Tracey Valles, Alejandra López, Yaretsi Ortega, Areli Verderja, Fabian Fiscal, Janet González, David Loera, Juan Peña, Mónica Gonzales, King David González, Alejandra González, Madeline Perales, Juan Carlos Moreno, Ángel Romo, Jailene Figueroa, Ruby Ramírez, Abdiel Robles, and Jasmine Islas.
