Art Winners of 55th Aldine ISD Livestock Show, Advance to Art Auction Breakfast Jan. 31
Congratulations to the 2014 Aldine ISD Livestock Show Art Winners! The Grand Champion Award went to Yanley Cisneros from Nimitz High School while Nanci Escamilla of MacArthur High School earned the Reserve Grand Champion Award.
The Art Awards are presented annually through a joint venture partnership between the Aldine ISD art programs and the Career and Technical Education Department. The top five winners are included as part of the annual Silent Art Auction Breakfast, Friday, Jan. 31 at 7:30 a.m. in the foyer (second floor) of the M.O. Campbell Center (MOC), located at 1865 Aldine Bender.
In past Silent Art Auctions, student artworks have sold for an average of $2,000, all of which goes to the student artist (with the exception of a small processing fee). Traditionally, the next three placed artworks have had offers made to them and have been sold at after market sale. The sale of student artwork is intended to serve as an art scholarship for the students to the college of their choice.
Those interested in attending the 7th Annual Art Breakfast and Auction, should contact Christina Gaskins in the Career and Technical Education Office at 281-985-6646.
Folks who attend the breakfast will have the opportunity to meet the eight student winners as well as have a chance to view approximately 115 artworks on exhibit (Room 104 of MOC) from high school students. These works are also for sale to interested buyers, with the approval of the student artist.
