Aldine Middle School Chess Team Shines in Tournaments

The Aldine Middle School chess team has had an outstanding year. The team has either taken home first place or placed in the top three in the Middle School Division. Thomas Lucker, iTech at the campus, coaches the team.

Earlier this school year, the team took home first place in the Middle School Division at the Houston Chess Association (HCA) Tournament
 held at Aldine Middle. The team placed second and third in the HCA tournaments held at Briargrove Elementary School and T.H. Rogers Middle School.

In January the team earned third place in the Middle School Division at the Rocks & Rooks Chess Tournament held at Patsy Sommer Elementary in Austin.

The team most recently took home first place at the Houston Scholastic Open sponsored by Cajun Chess.
