Carver High’s ‘Porgy’ One-Act Play Wins District 18-5A/Area 1 Title, Advances to Regional Contest

Carver High School theater students took home the title of UIL One-Act Play District 18-5A/Area 1 champions for their performance of the play “Porgy” by Dorothy and Dubose Heyward. The students will advance to the regional competition set for May 3 at San Jacinto College-Central Campus.

The group competed in the district and area event after advancing from the [icons icon_name=”icon-external-link” icon_size=”14px”]UIL One-Act Play Zone A.

The regional contest at San Jacinto College-Central, 8060 Spencer Highway (Pasadena, TX 77501), will commence at 12:30 p.m.

Everyone is invited to attend the regional contest to support the students. Supporters are asked to arrive between 12:15 p.m. Once the competition has commenced, folks will not be allowed to enter. The cost of admission is $10.
