Kujawa EC/PK Student Wins 2nd Place in National Magnet Schools of America Poster Contest

Dream Henderson, a prekindergarten student at Kujawa EC/PK Center, won second place in the 2014 National Magnet School Poster Contest. Magnet Schools of America (MSA) sponsors the annual contest.

This is a national initiative held during National Magnet School Month in February to highlight and promote the program across the country.

This year’s contest theme was “Creating Opportunities for All.”

Students competed in one of three levels. Four-year-old Dream placed in the Elementary School Level. As a second place winner, Dream received a check for $75.

Judges based their selection on four criteria: 1) online voting, 2) how well the student articulated the theme, 3) originality, and 4) use of color and design.

Dream’s art teacher is Cynthia Graff and her teacher is Shana Scruggs.

Principal Debbie Hagood is excited for the young student.

“We are so excited that Dream, one of our little tikes placed in the national contest,” said Hagood. “We are all happy for Dream.”
