Three AISD baseball teams earn playoff berths

The MacArthur Generals, the Nimitz Cougars and the Eisenhower Eagles all earned berths in the Class 5A baseball playoffs.

The Generals, under the direction of head coach Ernest Gonzales, finished first in District 18-5A and will face Cy-Creek in a best of three series. Game 1 will be played on Thursday, May 1 at Lansford Field at 7 p.m. Game 2 will be on Friday, May 2 at Cy-Creek High School and will also begin at 7 p.m. If necessary, Game 3 will be played on Saturday, May 3 at 2 p.m. at Cy-Ranch High School. The Generals will enter the series with a 19-4-1 season record (the Generals finished 13-1 in district play), while Cy-Creek will enter with a 17-10 season record.

The Cougars, under the direction of head coach Kirk Thompson, finished second in District 18-5A and will take on Cy-Fair in a one-game playoff on Thursday, May 1 at Davis High School. The Cougars will enter the game with a 20-2 season record (they finished 12-2 in district play), while Cy-Fair will enter with a 22-4 season record.

The Eagles, under the direction of head coach Joshua Culp, finished third in District 18-5A and will face Cy-Ranch in a best of three series. Game 1 will be on Thursday, May 1 at Minute Maid Park and will begin at 7 p.m. Game 2 will be on Friday, May 2 at Cy-Ranch High School and will begin at 7 p.m. If necessary, Game 3 will be played on Saturday, May 3 at Cy-Ranch High School and will begin at 2 p.m. The Eagles will enter the series with a 10-10 season record (they finished 8-6 in district play), while Cy-Ranch will enter the series with a 20-4 season record.
