AISD Students Advance to FBLA, BPA National Competitions

Several AISD Future Leaders of America (FBLA) students are advancing to the national competition set for June 29-July 2 in Nashville, TN.

Students advanced to nationals based on their performance at the state event. One AISD student advancing is Melissa Buruca-Mendoza. The Aldine High student achieved one of the top three scores in the state in MOS Word Certification.

Angela Whorton, program director of career and technical education, is proud of the students.

“We have some very talented students,” said Whorton. “I am so proud that the students are advancing to the national level.”

A number of Carver High and Drew Academy Business Professionals of America (BPA) students also advanced to the national competition in the spring semester in Indianapolis, IN. The students also advanced based on their performance at the state competition.
