Girls Inc. inspires all girls to be strong, smart and bold. The organization’s life-changing programs and experiences help girls navigate gender, economic, and social barriers.
Trained, mentor professionals use research-based curricula. The positive all-girl environment equips girls to achieve in school. The curricula includes teaching girls how to lead a healthy lifestyle, manage money and navigate media messages. Girls Inc. also strives to help young ladies discover an interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
In the promotional video, Pamoelin K. Nelson, computer specialist at the campus, is also featured talking about how the program benefits girls.
Each year, the network of local Girls Inc. nonprofit organizations serves 136,000 girls ages 6 – 18 across the United States and Canada. Oprah Winfrey selected Girls Inc. to benefit from the sale of Teavana® Oprah Chai, a new tea available at Starbucks and Teavana stores.
