Aldine ISD Summer Recreation Program
Recreation classes will be offered by Aldine ISD in gymnastics, swimming, and weight training. There will be a twelve (12) student minimum for each class.
GYMNASTICS
Registration will be June 6 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the gymnasium of the school where instruction will be given. (Grades 1-12) Classes are $25.00. Twelve lessons will be offered from June 8 to June 25 in gymnastics. A second series of 12 lessons will be offered from June 29 to July 16.
Locations:
J. Ruth Smith Academy – 5815 W. Little York (registration only), Classes will be at Harris Academy – 3130 Holder Forest Dr.
R.C. Conley Elementary – 3345 W. Greens Rd.
SWIMMING
Registration will be June 6 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the pool area. Lessons are $25.00. Twelve lessons will be offered from June 8 to June 25 in swimming. A second series of 12 lessons will be offered from June 29 to July 16.
Locations:
Aldine High School, Only (Grades 1 – 12) (Must be 6 years old)
Swimming pool at Aldine High School will be open for swimming lessons (9:00 am – 3:00 pm).
OPEN SWIM
Nimitz High School will be utilized for “Open Swim” only from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
MacArthur High School will be utilized for “Open Swim” only from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Aldine High School will be utilized for “Open Swim” only from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Admission per session for swimming will be $1.00 for students and adults.
Participation levels will determine if pools will remain open throughout the summer – Beginning June 9
WEIGHT TRAINING
Registration will be June 6 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 at Aldine Sr., Davis Sr., Eisenhower Sr., MacArthur Sr. and Nimitz Sr. (Must be 10 years of age or older)
Cost: $25.00 per course with the requirement of at least 12 students for a class to be offered. NO refunds can be made once the class starts unless classes are cancelled due to enrollment.
Weight Training will begin June 8 and end on July 23 – Twenty-six lessons
Students will be grouped according to age and ability at registration. The instructor will determined the days and time for lessons at the time of registration.
RECREATION ONLY
The gyms will be open at Aldine Sr., Davis Sr., Eisenhower Sr., MacArthur Sr., Nimitz Sr. and Carver Sr.,
June 8 to July 25, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. for recreational play at no cost to the students.
