Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Awards $594,000 in Scholarships to Aldine ISD Students

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo recently made some seniors very happy. The HLSR is helping them get a college education. The HLSR awarded 33 graduating Aldine ISD seniors with $18,000 scholarships each. That totals to $594,000 in funds awarded to AISD students. They were among the more than hundreds of students awarded an [icons icon_name=”icon-external-link” icon_size=”14px”]HLSR scholarship in the Houston area.

Aldine ISD students received Rodeo Metropolitan, Opportunity and School Art Scholarships. Each scholarship totals $18,000 per recipient over four years.

Each year the HLSR awards scholarships to graduating students with outstanding academic achievement. The HLSR awards many [icons icon_name=”icon-external-link” icon_size=”14px”]different types of scholarships.

To be eligible, an applicant must meet certain criteria. The application process includes submitting a written essay detailing the recipients’ higher education goals.

By the end of the summer, Rodeo Houston will have awarded more than 750 Texas students with nearly $13 million in scholarships*.
