Eisenhower High School Students Visit BBVA Compass Stadium, Learn About Hospitality and Sports Marketing
Sports marketing is one of the hottest industries in today’s business world.
Students in the hospitality and sports marketing program at [icons icon_name=”icon-external-link” icon_size=”14px”]Eisenhower High School went ORANGE. The group recently visited the BBVA Compass Stadium. Students got to experience the sports industry firsthand.
Everyone is aware of athlete endorsements and equipment contracts. They may not know that sports memorabilia is a $2-billion-a-year industry. Sports marketing is one of the hottest industries in today’s business world. It is also one of the most competitive industries.
The [icons icon_name=”icon-external-link” icon_size=”14px”]Ike students took a tour of the stadium. This included the Houston Dynamo locker room and the Adidas Dynamo Team Store. They also got a glimpse of the VIP Team Store and the VIP West Club. They learned the downtown Houston stadium seats 22,000. The U.S. Green Building Council recognized the stadium in 2012. The Council awarded the BBVA Compass Stadium with a LEED® Silver certification. The stadium is a pioneering example of new construction and sustainable design.
The field trip served to enhance marketing and hospitality courses. Students got to hear from experts. They learned about the marketing principles of product, pricing, promotion, and placement. And they learned about the sports hospitality industry.
The U.S. Army made the tour possible. The U.S. Army also provided students with tickets to a Houston Dynamo game.
