MacArthur cross country team headed to state

The MacArthur High cross country team is state bound!

For the second consecutive year, the Generals qualified for the Class 6A State Meet. In 2014, the Generals qualified by finishing fourth at the Region III Meet, this year, they improved by two spots finishing second at the Region III Meet, held on Monday, Oct. 26 at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.

The team, under the direction of head coach Kelly Silha and assistant coach Xang Chareunsab, consists of Francisco Hernandez, Luiz Yanez, Eulises Garcia, Santiago Solorio, Felix Cruz, Jose Porcayo and Joel Garcia.

The state meet will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7 in Round Rock.

The MacArthur High girls and the Aldine High girls also competed at the Region III Meet, but did not qualify for state.
