Eisenhower advances to second round of Class 6A playoffs

The Eisenhower Eagles overcame an 18-point halftime deficit and rallied for a 36-28 victory over Cy-Fair to advance to the second round of the Class 6A Division I playoffs.

The Eagles, under the direction of head coach Kerry Bamburg, trailed Cy-Fair 28-10 at halftime, but scored 26 second half points to advance to the next round of the playoffs.

On Saturday, Nov. 21, the Eagles will face Lamar at 1 p.m. at Thorne Stadium.

Eisenhower will carry an 8-3 second record into the game, while Lamar will carry a 10-1 record into the contest.

In other playoff action involving Aldine ISD schools, Davis High lost a 34-32 heart breaker to Cy-Creek. The Falcons, under the direction of head coach James Showers, finished the season with a 6-5 record. The Nimitz Cougars, under the direction of head coach Rich Slater, fell to Cy-Falls, 72-6 and finished the season with a 2-9 record.
