Kujawa Education Center Receives MSA Award

The annual program honors the most accomplished magnet schools across the nation.

Keith Kyles, Jeremiah Khoxayo and Jeremy Humphrey educated visitors about the dangers of poaching during the center’s 2016 IB Exhibition. The event marks the end of the Primary Years Program.

[dropcap color=”#888″ type=”square”]M[/dropcap]agnet Schools of America (MSA) recently announced the 2016 national merit award recipients. The national association recognized 258 public magnet schools and programs located in 19 states.

Magnet Schools of America supports the leaders and teachers of magnet and theme-based schools. It also promotes the development of new magnet programs and public schools of choice.

The Award recognizes campuses for demonstrating:

This year, 371 schools applied for national merit awards. This made 2016 the most competitive year in the award program’s history.

Todd Mann lauds the recipients. Mann is the MSA executive director.

“These schools are making a positive impact on the lives of children,” said Mann. “The schools provide unique learning experiences while preparing students for the challenges of the future. The schools are helping students develop critical skills needed to be college ready.”

MSA established two award categories: Magnet Schools of Excellence and Magnet Schools of Distinction. The top category is the Magnet Schools of Excellence Award. This is awarded to a group of select magnet schools. [icons icon_name=”icon-external-link” icon_size=”14px”]Kujawa Education Center received the School of Excellence Award in 2013.

The second category is the Magnet School of Distinction Award. The latter is the second highest honor.
