Aldine ISD Police Department hosts BBQ in honor of National Police Week

The Aldine ISD Police Department hosted a barbecue on Monday, May 15 in honor of National Police Week. Each year, National Police Week is held in conjunction with Peace Officers’ Memorial Day (May 15).

National Police Week and Peace Officers’ Memorial Day honor law enforcement officers who have given their lives in the line of duty and celebrates those who “protect and serve.” Historically, the State of Texas ranks as either first or second in the number of duty deaths each year.

Each year, the department’s supervisors perform “chef honors.” Supervisors who served as chefs were Chief Craig Goralski, Capt. Kevin Northey, and Sergeants Rodney Thordsen, Sue Frank, and Marc Harris. Officers Jimmy Stuckey and Mike Smith also served as chefs.

Aldine ISD schools donated the side dishes and the meat was donated by Contact Electric Rentals, LP.

Chief Goralski addressed the officers, as did Aldine ISD Superintendent Dr. Wanda Bamberg, U.S. Congressman Gene Green and State Representative Armando Walle. Officer Darren Dixon delivered the Benediction.
