Many baseball fans dream of going to the Major League World Series. For one student at Eisenhower Ninth Grade School, that has become a reality.

The Astros Urban Youth Academy provides free year-round softball/baseball training for players between the ages of 5-17. The Astros UYA also partners with the Aldine ISD Athletic Department on various baseball related activities.

Each year, the UYA selects a player to be the member of the year.

Dante has been a dedicated UYA member since 2011.

Dante is representing the Houston Astros and the Astros Urban Youth Academy. Dante and one of his parents received an expense paid trip to the 2016 World Series. They flew to the home city of the National League World Series team. During the weekend, Dante attended many MLB events. He also had the opportunity to meet several MLB Hall of Famers as well as current MLB players. On October 29, Dante was recognized on the field as the Houston Astros UYA Member of the Year during the pregame ceremony of that night’s game.
