Aldine ISD Board Approves 2018-2019 School Calendar

Parents and students can start making their summer vacation plans.

The school board approved next year’s calendar. The start date is Aug. 20, 2018. The last day of school will be May 30, 2019.

Thanksgiving will be a full week again.

The Aldine ISD Board of Trustees approved the calendar recommendations for the 2018-2019 instructional calendar during its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 13.

The District received input from teachers, parents, community members, campus administrators and support staff. To seek public input, the District posted an online survey for community members to provide feedback on two proposed calendar drafts.

The calendar is based on an instructional year of 76,985 minutes, required by state House Bill (HB) 2610.

What if schools close due to inclement weather or other emergency circumstances?

Inclement weather make-up days will be February 18, 2019 (make-up day #1) and April 22, 2019 (make-up day #2). The required number of time thereafter will be time of student and staff attendance to satisfy the state requirement of 76,985 instructional minutes.
