Houston Bar Association Honors Carver High School Student Bishop Pearsall at Law Day Luncheon

The winners of the 2018 Law Day Contest were recognized for outstanding entries.

The Houston Bar Association recently recognized contest winners at the Law Day Luncheon, which was sponsored by the Houston Young Lawyers Association.

Carver High School student Bishop Pearsall, one of the honorees, took first place in the photo event of the HBA 2018 Law Day Contest. This year’s theme is “Separation of Powers: Framework for Freedom.”

The contest is open to all school districts in the Houston area. Entries had to be students’ original work. Photographs had to also show technical knowledge of good composition, exposure and lighting.

Bishop advances to the state competition where he will represent Houston. If his name sounds familiar, it should. The magnet school student has received numerous accolades over the years (Click here to read articles related to Bishop.).

Matthew Kirkpatrick is Bishop’s art teacher and digital photography instructor.

The HBA Law Day art displays were at the Downtown Houston Heritage Plaza, Wells Fargo Plaza, Enterprise Plaza, First City Tower, The County Law Library, the 1910 Courthouse, the Harris County Civil Courthouse and Juvenile Justice Center.

Carver High School made U.S. News & World Report‘s Best High Schools in the U.S. rankings. Carver, a magnet school, focuses on engineering, applied technology and the arts.
