Aldine ISD’s Lynette O’Neal Named a Region 4 Finalist for Elementary Teacher of Year
Parker Intermediate School teacher Lynette O’Neal has been selected as a finalist in the Region 4 Teacher of the Year program competition. O’Neal is a sixth grade reading teacher.
Top regional winners will be named publicly Aug. 1 during the annual dinner and reception for Teachers of the Year sponsored by the Region 4 Education Service Center (ESC), which serves a seven-county area that includes 50 public school districts.
O’Neal said she strives to motivate her students to reach their full potential as learners.
“Every student needs to achieve a measure of success to keep them motivated during the learning process,” she said. “My role is to evaluate the needs of each student, keep them energized, facilitate their learning, provide them with what they need and equip and empower them to take ownership of their learning and its outcomes.”
The annual Region 4 Teachers of the Year event is part of the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) Texas Teacher of the Year program, the next level of competition. Texas Teachers of the Year may go on to compete at the national level.
