Aldine advances to 3rd round of soccer playoffs

The Aldine Mustangs advanced to the third-round of the Class 6A soccer playoffs with a shootout win over Cy Lakes on Tuesday night.

The two teams battled to a 0-0 tie in regulation and the Mustangs advanced via the shootout.

Aldine, under the direction of head coach Melbin Barahona, will face Langham Creek on Friday night at 7 p.m. at Delmar Stadium.

The Nimitz Cougars saw their season come to an end with a 3-1 loss to Langham Creek. The Cougars were under the direction of head coach Oscar Nunez.
