Aldine boys advance to 4th round of soccer playoffs

The Aldine Mustangs have advanced to the fourth round of the Class 6A boys’ state soccer playoffs.

The Mustangs defeated Langham Creek 2-1 on Friday, April 5 at Delmar Stadium. The Mustangs received goals from Kelvin Vasquez and Erickson Elvir to improve to 11-7-7 on the season and earn a trip to the Region II semifinals.

Aldine will face Garland Sachse on Friday, April 12 at 4 p.m. at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex in Round Rock. The winner faces the winner of the Allen-College Park game on Saturday, April 13, with a trip to the Class 6A state tournament on the line.

The Mustangs are under the direction of head coach Melvin Barahona.
