Aldine ISD Names New Chief Transformation Officer

The CTO shall lead the development of projects and initiatives that ensure more Aldine ISD students have access to additional high-quality schools.

Superintendent Dr. LaTonya M. Goffney officially announced Adrian Bustillos as Chief Transformation Officer during the Board of Trustees’ regular meeting on October 22.

Bustillos, who joined Aldine ISD earlier this month, is responsible for setting the vision and direction for innovative school models. He will also serve as the point-person for transformation initiatives that ensure students in the district have access to high-quality schools.

“I look forward to seeing Adrian’s leadership and direction as he works to develop new programs and initiatives that will benefit all students,” Dr. Goffney said. “His work is directly aligned with our goals of increasing student achievement, and ensuring additional students have access to more options and choices throughout Aldine ISD.”

Adrian began his career in 2006 as a science teacher in El Paso ISD (EPISD) before quickly moving into campus and administrative leadership roles, including science facilitator, assistant principal, and high school facilitator.

Immediately before joining Aldine, Bustillos was the executive director for the Office of Transformation for EPISD. He helped launch the office and served as the Systems of Great Schools Liaison between El Paso ISD and the Texas Education Agency. He also oversaw the hiring of leadership and curriculum development at some of the district’s most struggling campuses.

Bustillos holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas-El Paso in biological science and a master’s in educational leadership. He has completed all coursework required for his doctorate in curriculum and instruction at New Mexico State University.
