Greenspoint Elementary Students Invite Superintendent to Morning Circle

Greenspoint Elementary School fifth-grade students recently invited Superintendent Dr. LaTonya M. Goffney to participate in their daily morning circle routine. Ms. Karin Lofton’s fifth-grade math and science students gather in the middle of their classroom each morning. During morning circle, they watch the morning announcements, participate in an activity and have share time. Share time is allotted for the students to answer a question of the day.

During Dr. Goffney’s visit, the students had the opportunity to share something special about their classroom or ask her questions. The student’s asked great questions.

  • How do you balance work and home life?
  • How can we get access to more advanced chapter books?
  • How did you get your start in education?
  • How long have you been a Superintendent?

They even asked Dr. Goffney if she ever has a chance to sleep.

“I probably don’t sleep as much as I should because I am always working to ensure all of our students have everything they need to be successful,” Dr. Goffney said. “My team and I take that task very serious.”

The students ended their morning circle with a group photo with Dr. Goffney.
