Aldine ISD Superintendent Dr. LaTonya M. Goffney will host the annual State of the District Breakfast on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
The invitation-only event will provide Goffney with the opportunity to review the highlights from the 2018-19 school year and preview new programs geared toward increasing opportunities and choices for students.
Targeting district business partners, community members, volunteers, and supporters, the event will serve as a platform for Goffney to highlight Aldine ISD moving from a ‘C’ to a ‘B’ based on the State of Texas’ academic accountability ratings. The district received a grade of 83; up from 76. Four Aldine ISD campuses earned ‘A’ grades, including Stephens Elementary School, which moved from a ‘D’ school to an ‘A’ school within a year.
Additionally, administrators will discuss the district’s five-year strategic plan, A New Way Forward, partnerships Aldine ISD has developed, the opening of two Accelerating Campus Excellence (ACE) campuses, finances, and Aldine’s new branding and logo.
