Aldine ISD Wants To Stay Connected To The Class Of 2020

The class of 2020 has been impacted greatly by decisions related to COVID-19. 

Seniors across Aldine ISD have been hit with life-changing events the past few weeks. They have had to endure some tough decisions about their grades, student life, extracurricular activities, athletics and special events like prom. 

Today, Aldine ISD Superintendent Dr. LaTonya M. Goffney sent them a letter encouraging them to stay strong during the circumstances. 

“I am inspired by each and every one of you who continue to show dedication to your studies, pride in your schools, and commitment to your bright futures. I am so proud to be part of the Aldine family with you, ” Goffney wrote.

Her letter also introduced a new website designed just for the class of 2020. The site addresses general questions,  a timeline of key dates, learning resources, information to continue seniors’ college search, and even a customized stress relief plan while the district continues to follow Harris County’s stay-at-home order (as of March 24, 2020). It also includes a “What’s Next” section — a place for seniors to share celebratory messages and college acceptances. 

The Superintendent is planning virtual Townhall meetings where seniors can ask questions, talk about what’s next and hear from their classmates.
