OneGoal Features Carver High School in November’ Community Perspectives’ Story

The youth education programs and services charity works to create a world where all students can earn a college degree and define their future.

Monica Caldwell is the OneGoal program director at Carver High School for Applied Technology, Engineering, and the Arts. OneGoal recently featured Caldwell, where she discussed working with students to ensure they have equal access to college and beyond.

“I serve in a community where students may not always have access to important resources necessary for them to plan for their future,” Caldwell said. “I am the bridge for that divide. I especially admire that as the Program Director, I get to spend at least three years with them.”

She added that the best part of the job is seeing the Fellows’ faces as they read their college acceptance letters or share earned scholarships.

Caldwell creates a family atmosphere with OneGoal students at Carver HS. Everyone helps and supports one another, building brighter futures together.

Building relationships virtually during the pandemic has been challenging to meet face-to-face or for students to experience visiting colleges. Still, Caldwell strives to keep giving students hope about their future.
