Kinder Foundation honors MacArthur HS teacher with $30,000 Kinder Excellence in Teaching Award
Kinder Foundation representatives surprised MacArthur Senior High School teacher and coach Alexis Ayala this afternoon by letting him know that he has been named a recipient of the 2026 Kinder Excellence in Teaching Award. Ayala is one of 12 Houston-area educators selected for the honor this summer, receiving a $30,000 award. He is the second Aldine ISD teacher to earn the distinction, following Plummer Middle School teacher Joseph Stewart in 2025.
