Aldine ISD Announces a Number of Staff Assignments at July 18 Board Meeting

During the July 18 Board meeting, Aldine ISD Superintendent Dr. LaTonya M. Goffney announced several staff assignments.

  • Marcia Herrera was named Chief Human Resources Officer after serving as Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services in Sheldon ISD.
  • Ray Mondragon was named a School Assistant Superintendent after serving as Executive Director of Early Learning with Aldine ISD.
  • Dr. Terri Osborne was named a School Assistant Superintendent after serving as Coordinator of Leadership Development, Title I, and Special Projects in Humble ISD.
  • Dr. Matilda Orozco was named a School Assistant Superintendent after serving with the International Leadership of Texas School.
  • Dr. Rachel Alex was named Executive Director of Leadership Development after serving as Senior Education Specialist at Region 4.
  • Paul Carampatan was named Director of School Administration after serving as Director of Student Affairs with Spring ISD.
  • Tiffany Freeman was named Program Director of Career and Technical Education Partnerships after serving as Director at Southern University.
  • Jonathan Castillo was named Assistant Director of Transportation after serving as an Operation Supervisor in Transportation with Klein ISD.
  • Detrick McAfee was named Principal of Plummer Middle School after serving as an Associate Principal at the Spring Leadership Academy in Spring ISD.
  • Brandy González was named Principal of Vines Primary School after serving as a Multilingual Content Specialist with Tomball ISD.
  • Dr. Joshua Nation was named Principal of Davis Ninth Grade School after serving as an Assistant Principal at Summer Creek High School in Humble ISD.
  • Miriam Acosta was named Principal at Sammons Elementary School after serving as an Assistant Principal at Bussey Elementary School.
  • José Lara Collazo was named Principal at Mead Middle School after serving as the Curriculum Assistant Principal at that same school.
  • Greg Castille was named Principal of Smith Elementary School after serving as a Program Manager for To Educate All Children.
  • DeeDe Burke was named an Assistant Principal at Davis High School after serving as Dean of Instruction at Christa McAuliffe Middle School in Fort Bend ISD.
  • Karen Lucario was named an Assistant Principal at Davis High School after serving as the Lead Counselor at La Promesa.
  • Catherine Fletcher was named an Assistant Principal at Ogden Elementary School after serving as the Assistant Principal Resident Intern at Ermel Elementary School.
  • Debora Hernández was named an Assistant Principal at Spence Elementary School after serving as the Language Development Specialist at Southwest Public Schools.
  • Sabra Crawford was named an Assistant Principal at Teague Middle School after serving as the Math Instructional Specialist at Hall Success Academy.

Aldine ISD Police Officer Recognized

Aldine ISD Police Chief Paul Cordova named Aldine ISD Police Officer Marco Felder as his department’s Employee of the Month. Officer Felder has spent six years with the Aldine ISD Police Department.

Aldine ISD Trustees Approve Action Items

During the July 18 Board meeting, Aldine ISD Trustees approved the following action items:

  • Approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Lone Star College for the 2023-24 school year to deliver Continuing Education Workforce Programs to parents or guardians of Aldine ISD students (ESL courses)
  • Approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Lone Star College for the 2023-24 school year to deliver Continuing Education Workforce Programs to parents or guardians of Aldine ISD students (GED classes)
  • Approved Amendment Number Three to the Memorandum of Understanding to provide Pediatric Behavioral Health Services via Telehealth between the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and Aldine ISD to conclude on Aug. 31, 2027
  • Approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Lone Star College for College Preparatory Mathematics and English Language Arts Courses for the 2023-24 school year
  • Approved an agreement between Aldine ISD and the University of Houston regarding the UH Alternative Certification Program from July 2023 through July 2028
  • Approved an Interlocal Agreement between the Harris County Department of Education (HCDE) and Aldine ISD relating to HCDE’s The Center for Educator Success’ Certification and Support Program for 2023-25
  • Approved the 2023-24 Compensation Manual
  • Approved the monthly Tax Office refunds
  • Approved the authorization to execute the easement purchase agreement and conveyance to Harris County Water Control Improvement District #74 at Hambrick Middle School
  • Approved the authorization to execute the easement purchase agreement and conveyance to Harris County Water Control Improvement District #74 at Oleson Elementary School

The August Board meeting will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 7 p.m. and in the Board Room of the Donaldson Administration Building.
