Aldine ISD Names 2020-2021 Rookie Teachers of the Year

Reagan Burns, Hinojosa Primary teacher, has been named 2020-2021 Elementary Rookie Teacher of the Year.

Leon Hunt, Davis Ninth Grade School teacher, has been named 2020-2021 Secondary Rookie Teacher of the Year. 

Aldine ISD named Reagan Burns, Hinojosa Primary teacher, and Leon Hunt, Davis Ninth Grade School teacher, 2020 2021 Rookie Teachers of the Year. On Tuesday, March 2, the Rookie Teachers of the Year were surprised by their campus administrators and staff. 

Principals were asked to nominate a stand-out Rookie Teacher on their campus. After receiving nominations the Rookie Teacher of the Year Committee narrowed the list to one Elementary and Secondary Rookie Teacher of the Year. From that list, the committee selected Reagan Burns from Hinojosa Primary and Leon Hunt from Davis Ninth Grade School. 

Burns and Hunt will be celebrated at the annual Educators of the Year Breakfast. The ceremony will be broadcast live on the Aldine ISD Facebook page at 10 a.m. on March 12, 2021.
