Magnet Schools of America has once again named Bethune Academy and Reece Academy Merit Schools of Distinction.

The Magnet Schools of Merit Award program recognizes the top magnet schools in the United States that show a commitment to high academic standards, curriculum innovation, successful desegregation, diversity efforts, specialized teaching staffs, and parent and community involvement. The top category given to a group of select magnet schools is the Magnet Schools of Excellence Award; the second category of awards is the Magnet Schools of Distinction Award.
