Houston Academy Student Wins HNMC Art Contest

Lilian Zelaya, a fifth grade student at Houston Academy, recently competed in the Houston Northwest Medical Center Art Contest where she took first place honors in her age division.

Students from Aldine ISD, Klein ISD and Spring ISD developed artwork for this year’s theme, which was “Celebrate a New Beginning.”

Zelaya’s winning artwork will be displayed at Houston Northwest Medical Center (HNMC) for the 2012- 2013 year. Pictured with her are Aldine ISD Superintendent Dr. Wanda Bamberg, Juan Fresquez of Northwest Medical Center, Virginia Quartaro of Frost Bank and Adrián Cadena of Frost Bank.

Zelaya’s art teacher is Mary Cooper.
