Nimitz Girls, MacArthur Boys Finish Second at District 18-5A Swimming & Diving Meet

The Nimitz High girls’ swim team and the MacArthur High boys’ swim team each finished second at the District 18-5A Swimming and Diving Meet, held Jan. 31-Feb. 1 at the Davis High School Natatorium.

The Lady Cougars finished second with 77 points. Hastings High finished first with 182 points. The Generals finished second with 134 points. Hastings placed first with 141 points.

Forty Aldine ISD swimmers and 12 relay teams qualified for the Region III Meet, set for Conroe on Friday, Feb. 8. The top six individual finishers and the top six relay teams qualified for regionals.

“The athletic department would like to commend Molly Charley for doing a fantastic job of putting on the district meet,” said Sandra Mader, Aldine ISD director of athletic services. “In addition to preparing her Davis swimmers for their first-ever district meet, she was responsible for organizing the league meet and she did an outstanding job.”
