MacArthur High EMT Students Accepted Into Internship Program

Dr. George Kiss, medical director for its emergency medical services (EMS) professions program at Lone Star College-North Harris, and James Kieke, emergency services program director at Lone Star College-North Harris, informed MacArthur High School that several students undergoing EMT (emergency medical technician) training have been approved for full clinical internships, which are required to obtain EMT certifications.

The following students (pictured l-r) will be obtaining their clinical internships: Laura Delgado, Mayda Vázquez, Karina Jaramillo, Jaquelyn Ruiz, Karen Celestino, Cristina Zamarripa, Edgar Contreras, Ricardo Reyna and Johnny Campos.

The students will be performing their trauma center internship with Hermann Hospital and ambulance rotations through the Harris County Emergency Corps, which is the EMS provider for the MacArthur Area. Each of the students will undergo 24 hours of training in the trauma center and 36 hours in an ambulance.

A hearty congratulations goes out to these young men and women for a fine job in taking a huge step in their certification process. Being accepted into the internship program is not an easy process and they have all worked very hard to obtain this.
