Groove 44 Fitness Donates School Supplies to Drew Academy

Just in time for the start of the new school year, members of Groove 44 Fitness donated school supplies for students at Drew Academy.

Groove 44 Fitness is a line dancing group comprised of current and former Aldine professionals. The group regularly holds its Monday night class at Drew Academy. To show their appreciation for use of the space at the campus, members bought and collected school supplies to donate to the students.

Pictured above are (l-r) April Alexander, Charlene Collins, Deborah White (a child nutrition staff member at Davis High School), Tomasa Baltimore, Tammy Gentry, Principal Earnest Washington, Everlena Harris, Tiffany Thomas, Joyce Fields, Stacie Archie (librarian at Hambrick Middle School), and Katie Washington (former principal of Smith Academy). Mia Trevillion-Barney, not pictured, is the founder of Groove 44 Fitness. Trevillion-Barney is the dance teacher at Bethune Academy.
