Hill Intermediate Receives Grant From Dollar General Literacy Foundation

Hill Intermediate School recently received a $2,500 Youth Literacy Grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation to support the campus’ literacy programs.

Cassie Pedersen, special education department chair at Hill Intermediate, applied for the grant.

“The teachers at Hill are very excited to use the grant to purchase reading materials for students at all levels of literacy,” commented Pedersen. “Students will be able to use materials at their specific level of literacy with the help of this grant.”

Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2013, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation is proud to support initiatives that help others improve their lives through literacy and education. Since its inception in 1993, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation has awarded more than $84.9 million in grants to nonprofit organizations, which has helped more than 4.8 million individuals take their first steps toward literacy or continued education.
