CPI Inducts Francis Elementary Educator Mike Bell Into Instructor Hall of Merit

The Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) recently announced that Michael “Mike” Bell, assessment specialist at Francis Elementary School, has been inducted into the CPI Instructor Hall of Merit. The institute recognized Bell and 74 other nonviolent crisis intervention certified instructors worldwide for their extraordinary commitment to the continuous training process that promotes the greatest care to those they serve.

The CPI Hall of Merit selection process included a review of the records of more than 27,000 active certified instructors of the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training Program. Selection criteria included but was limited to the number of staff members trained, total hours spent training, number of training programs taught, and number of CPI training programs attended. Meritorious instructors will provide valuable guidance in an advisory capacity to CPI leadership to influence the direction of CPI’s Instructor Association.

“These leaders continue to validate the powerful impact of training as a vehicle for positively changing the quality of care with those they support,” said CPI President Judith Schubert.

There is a total of 122 nonviolent crisis intervention certified instructors to date who have achieved the Meritorious Instructor Level of status.

Bell has 17 years of experience in the field of education. He has been an NCI Certified Instructor since 1999 and has provided 250 hours of training annually for the district. Bell and 13 other trainers provide training to 90% of the campuses in the district annually and typically train between 2,000 – 2,500 staff members every year.
