Orange Grove Elementary Holds Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New Playground

Orange Grove Elementary School, district officials and Be An Angel representatives cut the ribbon for the opening of the campus’ new playground on October 3. Be An Angel, a nonprofit organization, donated the brand new playground. Over the summer, campus administrators helped design the playground, which includes the school colors of orange and navy blue. Students will enjoy playing with the echo chambers, drums, slides and swing set. The playground is accessible to all students including children with special needs.

“The new playground is a big hit with our students,” said Principal Dr. Kathleen Cox. “We are very grateful to Be An Angel for providing our students with a great playground for children to thrive in.”

Several district leaders attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony including Rick Ogden, AISD school board trustee; Dr. Wanda Bamberg, AISD superintendent of schools; and Ann Stockwell, area superintendent of MacArthur area schools. Marti Boone, executive director, and Russ Massey, program director, also attended the event to represent Be An Angel.
