MacArthur High School Teacher’s Article About Imagery in Writing Gets Published by ‘Germ Magazine’

The Web magazine Germ Magazine recently published an article written by Mary Keleshian of MacArthur High School.

Keleshian’s article, “Writing Tips: The Importance of Imagery,” discusses how a writer uses imagery. It is through imagery that writers show the readers the story instead of telling them. Keleshian gives writers ideas to prompt imagery in their writing. She feels that imagery gives readers the tools to fully experience the story the writer is telling them.

Keleshian is an English teacher at MacArthur High School. She submitted the article after attending ABYDOS Learning’s Three-Week Writing Institute. The institute provides teachers with intensive training in writing. Organizers expect participants to submit an article to a publisher with the goal of getting published.

Dr. Kristin Craft, principal at the campus, is elated for Keleshian.

“I am happy for Mary,” said Craft. “And this is very exciting news. She is the second teacher from MacArthur High to get published as a result of ABYDOS.”
