Carver Theatre Department earns two Tommy Tune nominations

The Carver High School Theater Department received two Tommy Tune nominations for their production of Ghost the Musical.

Kyle Ward was nominated in the Best Actor category. He portrayed the character Sam Wheat. Fellow Carver student Kristopher Adams earned a nomination in the Best Featured Performer category for his portrayal as the Subway Ghost.

The Tommy Tune Awards will be held April 21 at the Hobby Center and will be featured on ABC Channel 13 in June.

Best Actor/Actress nominees will perform a melody with all the other nominees in that category. In addition, two Carver students, Kedran Wade and Stephanie Quintero, were selected to perform in the closing number of the awards ceremony.

The production team consisted of Roshunda Jones (director), Jabari Collins (technical director and Choreographer), Sarita Salinas (choreographer), Tamara Fleming (production assistant) and Raymond Rax (Musical Director).

Houston and Drew Academy students contributed as part of the ensemble.
