Hundreds of musically talented students from across the state compete for a spot.

Pictured are eight of the 10 students selected for the State Elementary Honor Choir.

[dropcap color=”#888″ type=”square”]T[/dropcap]he Texas Choral Directors Association recently named the 2016 State Elementary Honor Choir. Ten students will represent Aldine ISD.

The TCDA selected 160 fourth, fifth and sixth grade students from across the state. The students underwent a competitive audio audition process. It is an honor to make the prestigious choir. The State Elementary Honor Choir will perform at the TCDA Convention set for July in San Antonio. The students will sing in front of thousands of choir directors.

For two students, this is the second time they have made the honor choir. Eva Davila and Graciela de la Cuesta were also selected in 2014. This is a rare accomplishment and the first time Aldine ISD students have achieved it.

With the exception of one of students, the rest are current members or have been members of the Aldine Children’s Honor Choir.
