Smith Stadium received a facelift thanks to funding from the $798 million bond referendum Aldine voters passed in November of 2015.

The stadium, named after long-time Aldine High School head football coach Bill Smith, received new artificial turf, rod-iron fencing with brick column, new cyclone fencing around the perimeter of the parking lot and new striping of the parking lot.

Additionally, a video board was installed on the press box.

Smith Stadium will be used for sub-varsity and middle school football games and varsity, sub-varsity and middle school boys and girls soccer games.

Renovations were completed in the fall of 2016.
